Chiropractic discovered me back when I was 12 years old. My father, whom I have considered one of my best friends throughout life, took a bad fall that caused him to rupture 8 discs in his back and neck. He was told that surgery was his only option, but there was only a 50% chance of success, and success meant long term pain and medications. Long story short, he began seeing a chiropractor, that just so happened to be a family member, and it changed both his and my life forever. Through regular chiropractic care, my father was able to avoid surgery, reduce his pain medications, and most importantly see the quality of his life return.
Chiropractic gave my father his life back and gave me my best friend back. I myself, have been getting adjusted since the time of my father's injury, and cannot imagine my life without it.
Through chiropractic I have learned what real health-care is all about. I learned that as a health-care provider that in order to help patients get well, I had to know what was making them ill to begin with. I learned that the “health care” system we have is nothing more than a “disease care” system that only intervenes after you are sick, and only intervenes with a drug or surgery that never gets you well, and that patients need something different.
I completed my pre-chiropractic- education at Niagara University, in Niagara Falls, New York, before continuing on at the prestigious Palmer College of Chiropractic, in Davenport, Iowa. I graduated with highest honors, Summa Cum Laude. At Palmer, I worked in the Human Anatomy Dissection Laboratory, the Community Outreach Clinics, and the local Red Cross.
I have attended the International Chiropractic Association's Certified Chiropractic Wellness Practitioner Program, where I have learned about new scientific principles, such as Allostatic Load and Epigenetics. This allows me to really understand what is causing an individual's lack of health on a case by case basis. I have also taken part in live human motor vehicle crash research, and I am certified in Motor Vehicle Forensic Crash Risk Anaylsis, through the Spine Research Institute of San Diego.
